In September 1988 the album The Stars We Are was released. Originally in the three standard formats of the time, LP Cassette and CD, The Stars We Are was a 10-track album. The record company then had the idea of getting Marc and Gene Pitney together to record a duet of Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart, which took the world by storm and boosted both Marc and Gene's careers. After the success of the single, Bitter Sweet, The Stars We Are was re-issued in January of the following year in the same three formats but with three extra tracks; The Frost Comes Tomorrow, Kept Boy and Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart duet with Gene Pitney.
